Jasmine was a plain black faced red bitch - she was very nicely bred, she had a good wide straight mouth, and lovely shoulders, a strong level top line and hammy quarters. Perhaps more importantly, she also had a super temperament and outlook on life,  all our dogs go back to her.

In 1994 we mated Jasmine ( Sindy Lou At Shakatan) back to her half brother, Santonoaks Ringo Red 2RCC. We had seven red and white puppies and kept a flashy bitch, the first Shakatan

This was Shakatan's Skyes the Limit. We took her to ring craft to learn how to handle and prepare her and us for the ring. She was a lovely bitch, a little spirited as those who knew her would testify, but she won well for us winning over 30 Best puppy in breed awards at open shows, as well as Best of Breed and reserve best puppy in show on  numerous  occasions she also won well at Championship show level, all  in lovely big classes as they were at that time.
She also proved very successful in the whelping box. She had three litters in all, and  each  litter contained both Open and Championship Show  winners, as well as Crufts qualifiers. Her lasting legacy is in her son Troy - Shakatan's Resolution who gained a  Reserve Challenge Certificate , he is now really proving his worth as a  top producing stud dog , with  many of his children  and grand  children winning well in the show ring for their owners.
More about him a little later.
Jasmine was mated again, this time to Santonoaks Twist and Shout; this produced a flashy litter of eight puppies. We kept a flashy red dog, Shakatan's Red Leader One pictured below, Hobson to his friends.

He was a big, masculine male, and our first Boxer to get a first place at a Championship show, this was at The British Boxer Clubs Jubilee event under Italian breed specialist Mr. F. Morandi, on a baking hot day in a class of 30 dogs. He was one year and one day old at the time.
By now it was time to mate Skye, we took her to Janice Brachers dog Santonoaks Berties Boy 2 RCC, Skye had seven puppies, there were two flashy girls, these were Shakatan's High Jinx (Rio), and Shakatan's Jupiter Jazz (Nina). Rio won her class at the first championship show attended; she was our first Crufts qualifier. She was consistently placed at every show she attended, and went best puppy in show at a local open show under the well known all rounder Mr. Frank Kane.
Shakatan's Jupiter Jazz went to live with Val Jackson (Willingwood) and did some very useful winning getting best puppy in breed at Blackpool Championship show. The girls 'did the double' at the Trent Boxer Club Championship show, by both winning their classes .
We repeated this mating and got Shakatan's Nemesis, or Jumble as she is affectionately known. She also was a multiple Crufts qualifier winning classes at Championship shows and being consistently placed each time out. Unfortunately Jumble did not enjoy the show scene so she was retired. She is pictured above aged twelve weeks.

Skye was then mated to Santonoaks Twist and Shout for her last litter; she produced a litter of nine pups, eight red and white dogs, and a white bitch! We kept Troy (left), and Jake (Shakatan's Rattle N Roll) went over to Finland where he has one Challenge Certificate.
Troy was placed at his first Championship show, and again qualified for Crufts while in Puppy. His most memorable win for us was winning the Reserve Challenge certificate under breed specialist Sheila Cartwright (Tyegarth) at Midland Counties Championship Show 2000 in very good company, aged twenty two months.

Eventually, Jumble (Sh. Nemesis) was mated to Valabeau Tinderbox, which produced Saskia (Sh.Hullabaloo) a golden brindle bitch, Saskia was another consistent winner at Championship shows, at her first outing, she won her minor puppy bitch class at the Mancunian Boxer Club Championship show, an entry of twenty seven in the class,  always in the cards, another home bred  multiple Crufts qualifier.

In time we mated Sass to our own boy Troy, and got Ozzy - Shakatan Ace of Spades - pictured below right after winning his class at Blackpool.

Ozzys show career is going very well, he is Kennel Club Stud Book Qualified, therefore qualified for Crufts for life, almost always in the cards at the Championship shows. He was a contender for the prestigious Mancunian Pup of the Year, and ended up one of the top four Boxer puppy dogs in the country.  He is larger than life with a lovely outlook. Heart tested zero, as a stud dog he passes on his many qualities to different bitch lines. His show career is currently on hold - hopefully making way for the youngsters to come up the ranks. l Championship show.

Jazz was from a repeat mating of Ozzy. She won well as a youngster and qualified for Crufts several times in really good company. However she had a serious accident at four months which has left her confidence for the show ring somewhat dented. As a result we no longer show her, but we have every confidence that she will breed on.
Roxy. Head photo of red/white Boxer. JPG file size=12665 bytes Dimensions=151x163pix.
On the right is Roxy - she is a Troy daughter, from a Ch.Sonshoby Swagman daughter, we bought her last year (something we rarely do!) from a lovely even litter. She is currently doing very nicely in the show ring for us. Her temperament is superb, and she is lovely and out going. She is quite slow to mature which we like. She has lovely conformation, as we would expect from Troy, and we are pleased with her slow and steady progress so far. She has qualified for Crufts 2007 on several occasions in large - strong classes. Heart tested zero.
Shakatan Tickled Pink - Pickle. Head photo of red/white Boxer. JPG file size=76599 bytes Dimensions=228x153pix.
We would like to introduce Pickle (Sh. Tickled Pink). She is a Daughter of Troy (Sh. Resolution 1RCC and Saskia - SH. Hullabaloo.
Once again Saskia only had the one puppy, but as we all know, quantity is not everything.
When the quality is this exciting we do not mind at all!!
**Pickle qualified for Crufts at her second Championship show aged six months** Also qualified for Crufts 2008.
A recent critique reads ' very smart r/w,lovely front and feet, attractive head and expression, nice dark eyes, good crested neck, level top line kept on the move, nicely angulated hindquarters which moved her well, one to watch'.
She had also been pulled out for the bitch CC on occasions recently, we hope she will continue with her winning ways
